Soldier On provides outreach services to veterans across Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania through a variety of targeted programs. Since 2011, the organization has delivered nearly $52 million in Temporary Financial Assistance, supporting more than 37,000 veteran and non-veteran household members.

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES (SSVF)
Our SSVF program operates on a 100% mobile service model in four states:
Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Case managers and peer support staff work with service providers to resolve housing issues.
Providing guidance and coordination to veteran families, helping them make informed decisions.
Identifying housing and linking to needed services.
Connecting veterans to VA benefits and community resources
Eligibility for SSVF assistance:
Proof of veteran status (DD214, HINQ, VA ID)
Income less than 80% HUD Area Median Income (AMI)
Homeless or court-ordered eviction notice

Bringing Veterans home
Through the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing & Community Resources, the state is committed to ending veteran homelessness by:
Strengthening support systems
Providing rapid access to housing
Ensuring that homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring
The Bringing Veterans Home (BVH) initiative establishes a clear and coordinated path to stable housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. By leveraging a network of services and support, BVH helps ensure that no veteran is left behind.

Persons experiencing homelessness in New Jersey meet the federal definition of Veteran eligible for homelessness services.
Service members (reservists) and National Guard members that, while not meeting the federal or state statutory definition of Veteran for homelessness services, are experiencing homelessness in the State of New Jersey.
To be eligible, the servicemember or National Guard member must be physically present in the State of New Jersey and must not have any pending service-related criminal or misconduct charges.

Street Outreach: Direct engagement with veterans experiencing homelessness.
Diversion: Prevention strategies to help veterans avoid entering the homeless system.
Rapid Rehousing: Quick placement into permanent housing with support services.
Housing Navigation: Assistance in finding and securing suitable housing.
Emergency Shelter: Immediate, temporary housing for veterans in crisis.
Regional Coordination: Coordinated services across counties and jurisdictions.
HOUSING OUTREACH-TO-PLACEMENT EFFORT CAMPAIGN
Through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Veteran Services, the HOPE (Homelessness Outreach to Placement Effort) campaign is a geographically equitable initiative focused on engaging directly with homeless veterans and facilitating their placement into stable housing.
Soldier On is proud to support this effort by providing services to veterans and veteran families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Western Massachusetts.
Eligibility:
Veterans with at least one day of military service, including members of the National Guard and Reservists, may be eligible for assistance.
