Soldier On’s fully staffed call center features easy access to transportation assistance within the community. Our veteran drivers provide rides for medical appointments, employment, education, shopping, and community services. The Call Center is staffed by veterans Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm, with calls answered by a live person and monitored during off-hours. Veterans or Case Managers can call anytime to schedule trips.

Soldier On’s dedicated team of 9 formerly homeless veterans prepares over 150,000 meals and snacks annually in our 2 industrial kitchens.

These meals serve Soldier On transitional and permanent housing residents, as well as community-based homeless shelters, daycare centers, and preschools throughout the community.

All veteran residents in Soldier On’s permanent housing facilities throughout Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York receive a meal a day, which is included in the residents’ monthly rent.

The Soldier On Wellness Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to support veterans in various aspects of their well-being. Leveraging the framework from the National Wellness Institute's Six Dimensions of Wellness, the program offers a holistic approach to improving veterans' physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and occupational health. By focusing on a range of wellness areas, Soldier On is addressing the diverse needs of veterans and fostering a community that encourages personal growth, independence, and positive lifestyle changes.

Soldier On provide legal, elder, and legacy services to our veteran residents.

Legal Assistance: Soldier On has two full-time lawyers who provide an array of legal services at no cost to the veteran. Services include debt problems, child support obligations, taxes owed, housing issues (evictions and landlord-tenant disputes) along with criminal and civil pending charges.

All permanent housing veteran residents also receive estate planning at no cost. Soldier On lawyers prepare a will, healthcare proxy and power of attorney for every veteran that moves into a permanent housing facility.

Elder Services: Soldier On connects aging veterans to in-home care, long-term care and rehabilitation services.

Legacy: Funeral services are provided by Soldier On with interment of ashes in an on-site columbarium.

The Soldier On Healthcare Navigation and Telehealth services provide critical support for veterans, helping them access and navigate healthcare resources, improve mental health, and manage their care from a place of comfort and convenience.

Veteran-Centered Approach: Soldier On’s use of telehealth allows for greater access to care, especially for veterans who may face mobility challenges, live in remote areas, or prefer the convenience of receiving care from home. By leveraging the technology to bring services directly to veterans, Soldier On ensures that mental health and other healthcare needs are met without the need for travel or in-person visits.

By integrating Healthcare Navigation and Telehealth, Soldier On is meeting the healthcare needs of veterans in a more comprehensive, flexible, and accessible manner, ensuring they receive the care they need, when and where they need it.

The Soldier On, Money Management International (MMI), and Freddie Mac collaboration is an invaluable resource for military veteran families and active-duty service members. This partnership provides free, comprehensive financial counseling and resources aimed at helping individuals navigate a variety of financial challenges, from credit and debt issues to homeownership preparation and financial stability.

The goal of the Financial Counseling Program is to empower military families and active-duty service members with the knowledge and support they need to take control of their financial future. The program offers personalized financial guidance and regular check-ins, addressing a wide range of financial concerns and providing strategies for building a path toward financial success.

Financial stress can be overwhelming, especially for those who may face unique challenges due to their service. This program provides:

• Free resources that can help participants save money and avoid financial pitfalls.

• Expert advice that is tailored to the unique circumstances of military families and veterans.

• Confidence in navigating financial challenges, with a clear path to financial freedom.

The Soldier On and Drop the Beet Farms partnership represents an innovative approach to sustainable farming, providing fresh, high-quality produce to veteran residents and local communities. This collaboration features custom-built hydroponic systems that grow soil-free, synthetic-free, herbicide-free, and pesticide-free aquaponic produce, offering a healthy and sustainable solution to food production.

Veteran residents in Tinton Falls, NJ and Agawam, MA are actively involved in managing and utilizing the hydroponic systems, offering them valuable skills in sustainable farming and food production. This not only provides fresh food but also empowers veterans with hands-on experience in a growing, eco-friendly industry.

Key Features of the Hydroponic Systems:

1. Soil-Free and Synthetic-Free: The system grows crops without the need for soil, using water and nutrients instead, making it ideal for urban or space-limited environments.

2. Herbicide-Free and Pesticide-Free: By eliminating harmful chemicals, the produce is healthier for consumption and better for the environment.

3. Efficient LED Lighting: The high-efficiency lighting provides optimal growth conditions, maximizing plant production in a controlled, sustainable way.

4. High-Yield and Consistent Growth: The systems are designed to produce a significant amount of food year-round, with the potential to grow 670 green items per month, including lettuce, spinach, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.

5. Annual Yield: The system is capable of producing more than 500 pounds of fresh produce annually, which is used to support a variety of community needs.

• Community Partners: In addition to foodbanks, the produce is shared with other local organizations and partners who work to support veterans and those in need.

The program focuses on providing alternative sentencing options, treatment programs, and advocacy to help veterans avoid jail time and receive the appropriate support they need to address underlying issues, such as substance abuse and mental health challenges. Through this program, veterans have access to a range of services that facilitate their rehabilitation, reintegration, and long-term success.
